How to Manage PMS Symptoms Naturally
PMS systems can impact how you feel, your energy, and how you feel. Over the years the most common symptoms I have had when my menstrual cycle is about to come on is soreness, mood swings, cramps, bloating, lack of energy, and feeling fatigue. Some months I don’t get bad cramps where as other times I may.
I learned a few things on how to manage those PMS days a lot easier. Here is a few tips on how you can too.
Natural Ways to Manage PMS
1. Watch what you eat
There have been many times I would eat heavy foods leading up to my cycle. However, once I switched to lighter foods like soups, fish, salad, days leading up to when my menstrual cycle starts it really helped how I felt overall. Limit the amount process foods you intake.
I know it can be tempting to eat junk food but there are ton of recipes you can try that fulfill you needs but are healthier options.
2. Stay Active
The simplest way to stay active is to walk. If you don’t have time to do a workout or have time to do a hobby that keeps you active this is the easiest way to stay active and maintain your balance.
3. Reduce Caffeine and Sugar
Limit the amount of added sugar and caffeine you consume. It can make your cramps feel worse and you may even get that feeling of I am ready for my cycle to be over mindset.
4. Prioritize Sleep
Rest. Take time for yourself and get a good night sleep in. If you have time through the day and you haven’t been sleeping well consider taking a nap.
Naps can re-energize you.
You will be more alert and not become so drained for whatever comes your way.
Final Thoughts
When you get those PMS symptoms early on it is a sign to enforce healthy lifestyle choices. Don’t let PMS stop you from living life. Take back your control with the habits you build.
